 Ah another ribbon! That's very satisfying. Thanks guys. It's been a quiet understated week. We had, had a day like this on the Sunday: overcast, no wind and I had been sitting watching the children in these rock pools, thinking "ah I wish I had my camera and could take for the Heaven challenge". Well as it turned out - the next day was just the same (not common in Cape Town) and so I quickly checked when low tide would be, called to the kids that we were off to the beach again, threw some white dresses in the car ( I was toying with the idea of me being in the shot too, but gut instinct caused me to toss those images) and off we went.

Sheesh: and guys the cloudy sky was deliberate! comments on "the bad sky" ... needed clouds to get that heavenly feel, and softness: love the overcast effect on lighting - reduces the high contrast problem.

A lot harder than I expected 'cos there are barnacles on those rocks under the surface and plenty of slippery algae: but Lily was brilliant - rewarded with a Macdonalds milkshake afterwards :-)
Two outtakes / options ... looked a bit disturbing and suicidal in a Sylvia Plath way...so didn't opt for them:

The tones in this are to die for! Lovely work and yes, perfect weather to get such a shot. Skies don't always need to be dramatic - sometimes subtle is just what is needed!

I love this photo so much! And beyond the ribbon, the memories of this photo shoot will surely be special long LONG after the ribbon and the challenge is forgotten. Congratulations! I love it when photos I love this much win ribbons! :)
