Shot on a sheet of glass over a working lamp. The concept is simple. You put vegetable oil and water in the same glass. You do it in two different glasses. Put them on the sheet of glass with the lamp under pointing up with a white canvas behind. Did some post editing. 1. rotate 2. level 3. neatimage 4. resize. 5. sharpen 6. border.

Hi greetings from the CC. IMP this image does not display too much conflict, tho I am not such a topic stickler. I think one of the biggest challenges in photography is choosing a subject, I think it is important IMO that the topic has some universal appeal, and a topic like 'conflict' is emotional in nature, I think this shot is emotionally flat.
As far as strictly technical, the DOF is done well, I would like to see some more color in the shot to add some drama, perhaps with a darker bckgrnd and some softer lighting? Or food dye in the water?
Being a studio type shot I would of also given a little more room on the top and bottom so subjects not so close to edges.
Hope this was not too harsh a comment, and that it is food for thought, keep shooting!

Very nice picture. When will water learn?

No conflict here . . . oil beats water every time. Or are the two glasses racing? Kinda confusing. Good, sharp exposure, though.

A really nice idea for this challenge. Original and well excuted. The only distracting thing about it is the various little specs on the glasses and table. I would have rated this higher if it had been cleaned up in post processing.
Score: 7 Nicely done! Good luck!

So many scratchs and smudges in the glass. Glass pictures are complex due to this. Great use of the DOF.

I think this would have been better with only the front glass

Good choice of background colour; brightness in lower right could be considered distracting.

oil and water, good choice, though it would have been great if you could show one still and one swirling.

nice pic, but (for me) does not fit the challenge well - it doesn't say 'conflict' without an explanation. Show the pic to strangers, and say nothing. Ask "What is the first thing that comes to mind?" or even 'What is the conflict in this image?' and let me know if anyone gets it.
