Today we scrambled to run errands and prepare for house guests. I figured I wouldn't have time to shoot anything so while I was in a neighboring town I stopped to get some really quick shots of a church I'd been eying for a while. It turns out this church was built in 1957 but I thought it was much older.

I quickly walked around the church taking all kinds of shots and as I walked passed the front entrance the wreaths really grabbed my eye. This is the one closeup I took and for some reason ended up being the only one I converted from RAW.

Fractalius
lots of basic adjustments
some dodging/cloning, especially around wreaths
texturizer filter - canvas

I like the texturizer on this! It gives it a warm feeling.

The wreaths grabbed my attention first too. They are beautiful against that door. Beautiful composition, I love that snow on top of the stairs. Enjoy your housse guests!

The color is what grabs the eye in this one. Maybe try cropping the whole thing tighter, cutting off some on the right and top (that way it looks like you missed the top of the gable on purpose). I do like that stonework, though.

An immediate eye grabber. The texture wasn't evident in the thumbnail, but it adds a lot, I love it. Oh, damn, it's just gorgeous.

Nice PP. I would have thought it was much older too, given the look of the stone walls. I agree with Waddy MelonMusketeer about the clipped gable. Bt you would have lost the base of the lamp post... Tough call!

This is a sweet shot. I like the punch of the color on the doors too. The only minor glitch to me is that the top of the gable over the doors is clipped off. Still, the stone, snow, the iron lamp and the doors make it enjoyable to see.

Nice image with the doors and the wreaths. Your processing makes it look like a picture book drawing. I like the canvas, too - could totally work as a Christmas card.
