Wonderful use of color harmony - the way the peachy color of the leaf is picked up by blurs of the same color in the bacground ties the image together nicely. |

It's funny. When this image first came up on screen I immediately thought; this could be a bookcover (honest!) - then I saw the title. :-)
This photo is one that engages the viewer. Asks questions, and makes me think/wonder. Very cool.
The bokeh and colors work very well together also. Nicely done! |

I guess I'm not up to speed on my literature. What's the fable portrayed here? Nice use of the colors, but my eye is divided between the bird and the leaf, rather than being led from one to the other. With nature photography, you kind of take what you get to a large extent. Animals don't exactly pose for you! |

this is beautiful, but it does not fit the challenge description of the "everyday...the ordinary" |

Wow - what a great shot. I love the bokeh, the grays, the hints of pink. And the sense of wonder. |

great colors with the repeat of the tones throughout the image & boke. I like the curling lines which take my eyes on a little stroll

Very nice use of subtle colors to highlight the beauty of this picture. I love how the birds eyes stand out. |

Beautiful capture. Positive tension between the bird and the leaf. It indeed does look like a scene from a story. Great job with the chosen DOF, with the front and back bokeh, and processing. |

Lovely and simple winter detail. I like the way that a single leaf remains, brittle, weathered, hanging on when all others have fallen. The shallow DOF creates a lovely effect of the branches and background behind. |

The first thing I noticed was the leaf, it's perfectly placed and a wonderful colour to stand out among the tangle of branches. Then I saw the bird. Another perfectly placed element, love the eye. This is one of my favourites. Excellent title as well. |
