can't really tell if it's dropping, can you? whether or not it conveys silence doesn't really matter here... as entry into a photography contest it's weak... then again, it could be somebody's "honest" try for a brown ribbon, you just never know these days... whatever... 2.

i wondered how many pin drops there would be. this one doesn't really demonstrate the action of dropping. on my monitor, at least, i've got almost solid black with a white line that must be the "pin" but it doesn't look like it's falling, or hitting something, or bouncing, or anything.

blurry

Good catch. Nice lighting.

This is a good idea, but I would have liked to see a different background here. The black seems to take over the entire image.

You should have put more thought into this picture. The idea is good but there is no feeling that the pin is dropping and the picture itself is uninteresting.

A difficult shot. Better focus on the pin is needed. Maybe better lighting and DOF. Did you try tracking the pin as it fell? That may have helped with the focus. A good idea and a great attempt, though!

A little dark, can't tell it is a needle.

That's a needle...

Good idea, but tough to pull off. Image looks pretty dark, not enough light being reflected by shiny metal needle... a larger light source or reflector next time? Would of been cool if you could have captured several rapid images of the needle falling/hitting floor. What I'm trying to say is that it looks more like a "still life" of a needle rather than the silence of a "pin dropping". Keep it up!

i see no distinguishable pin. a shaft of light maybe.

good idea, but it just isn't lit well or discernable enough.
