The texture discernible on the 'other', flat side of the cake looks good, but from this angle and with the fork, with that 'something' on it, does not look appealing. More attention paid to angle and composition likely help.

the cake looks good, the goo/icing on the fork is distracting in a aqua-rusting sort of way.
