 This is a swing bridge a few miles from where I live. I would guess that it is over 70 years old now, and still in service daily. It is opening for my son's boat in this shot. The bridge tender closes the traffic gates, walks from the little house on shore to the center of the swing span, and operates the bridge from there. The original machinery is still in place too, and until about 15 years ago, it was opened by putting a long pipe in a socket at the center and walking around and around to work the machinery. The location is a place called Fort Denaud, pronounced Da No, long O. It was an outpost in the Seminole wars in South Florida. Here's a link; Fort Denaud

Agree the blues are gorgeous not often one see's blue sky like this..
The bridge is really neat.. they don't build them like this anymore..

Awesome, gorgeous day! I miss my visits to South Florida. These serene scenes are the "real" Florida to me, not the havoc and mayhem of places like Orlando and Daytona. Crystal clear and lovely, Waddy!!!
