This is Verc, the most adorable pitbull puppy that comes into my work. He's only kenneled while waiting for his 'mom' to pick him up.I tried getting a better picture of him,but he would only stay still if the kennel was closed!

adjust brightness and contrast/crop/desaturate/crop again

I wish the original picture had of been better..I know some people probably won't like the way it's cropped..(top of his head cut off,and the one side of his face)..but it's the only way it worked out..there was too much shadows across his forehead from the top bar,and the other side of his face was never in the picture(this is the longest he held still for..he's only a 4 month old puppy! lol)

POST CHALLENGE:
I didn't think this picture would get a ribbon or anything, but I didn't think it would do this badly either...
But thanks for all the comments and votes :)

In my opinion the focus should have been on the eye.

It's a sad story for dog lovers. It's an ok photo for quality. I think most likely you went for the story rather than photo itself :/

Would not have had the same impact without that title.

The black and white adds to the sadness.

Aww, poor little fella. For me, I wish you had rotated your image so the bars were straight up and down and perhaps focused on his eye, which would enhance the sadness

The eye should be in focus.
