 Hand Held in Manual with 50mm f1.8 reversed (couldn't get the shot I wanted with my camera on a tripod)

"Involucre" is the green cup located between the stem and the underside of a flower head.

If it were advanced editing I would have taken out the light on the stem.

p.s. I love Ursula's floral macro work.. I hope one day to capture images as beautiful as hers.

I loved this in voting, and also thought of both Dax- and Ursula.... you've done a wonderful job of capturing the style you were after. Add to that the fact that you've done it with a reversed 50mm and not the 105mm on your wish list, and I'm even more impressed. Congrats on your top ten, and keep up the great work! :)

Stunningly beautiful (is this by Dax?), I really love the combination of sharp detail together with lots of smooth, out-of-focus areas and a nice graininess too. And lighting is lovely, so subtle, so perfect.

Nice pic, realy like the perspective and use of shallow DOF. Too bad the bokeh seems so noisy.
