 For weeks now I've been wanting to capture some deer in the woods. Got up at insane hour this morning, drove to a National Park near Montreal (Parc des Iles de Boucherville for those QCers on DPC). When I arrived on the trail, there were four of them, then 6 more came to join them. I was surrounded (and very happy about it, thank you!). This one liked me more than others. It followed me on the trail and came within 3-4 m of me. It stood still long enough for me to get this one. I am just THRILLED I got so close to them!! :D

To my mom: je l'ai eu, mon chevreuil!!

Good story with this shot. I am happy for you that the deer are so tame up there in Montreal. It's difficult to get within 100 meters of one here in Florida.
The image is just superb.
I don't get up early often either LOL.

Great shot! I find it hard to get up early but I've done it a few times to capture the deer. It doesn't always work out this well, but it's great when it does. I've found that they like to stare at you while you slowly sneak up and then bolt.

This is BEAUTIFUL!!! Definitely adding to my fav's. This looks like something out of a national geographic. Would look beautiful hanging in a living room with a nice black frame around it.
