 Well as ever I am not sure how this shot will do...I hope the contrast of sky and seagull is considered contrasting enough rather than just simply negative space (I keep wondering whether I should just go for a black and white type shot with plenty of one and little of the other)

I guess that the single bird in the sky has been done quite a lot on DPC and probably to a much more striking effect. But I it is the first time that I have taken a shot like this (and with my new camera) and I really like it (though if anyone wants to donate a telephoto lens I will happily accept it!!!).

One of those images that I suppose my expectations are somewhat tempered as I enter the challenge, but again I like this image as it feels like the type of shot I would not have taken 12 months ago (nor would I have been able to PP in the way that I can now do) and for that I will always be grateful to DPC.

I guess I don't understand isolation by contrast, as I thought this was an example of that. Still a very pleasing image. The blue is serene, and the border seems to hold it in.

I admit I do not find this very interesting... but I certainly like the rich blue colors a lot, and the border works nicely. Good try! :)

Too much empty space and the bird isn't clear. Great idea though and not entirely a bad photo.
