Butane fire lighter, blue paper background. Lighter held "on" with sticky tape, on a piece of wood on a stand. Lit by three halogen lights, highlighting background as well as subject to minimise shadows. Canon EF 100mm macro lens. Impossible to get enough light not to blow out flame highlights. Post processing included two lots of NeatImage to reduce blue backgound texture, otherwise it was just a bit of levels, especially to blue, crop and resize.
Not very exciting but technically acceptable, missing "art"!

Nice use or primary colors and fun title! I like the clarity and the light reflection

the flame is blown out.

Not exactly original. Maybe if you dropped some powder on the flame to get unusual colors or a few sparks? A more interesting background could help provide a context, too... maybe a moody scene with wine glasses and about to light a candle?

Nice color contrast and composition. Flame is a little bit overexposed.

This is good focus and great background not too much and not to little! I like it!

I like the composition a lot. the flame is nicely shaped and the angles you present with the lighter are visually appealing. I think you hurt a strong image, however, by oversaturating it. The flame looks artificial now.

Good composition, but the flame looks wrong somehow.

Appears to be as much a study in primary colors as a challenge for fire. I think the strong blue background along with the bright red handle are competing for the interest of the flame.

Diagonal position of the lighter makes for an interesting subject. A darker background would make the flame prominent.

The concept and composition is great but the flame being overexposed hurt this image.

Colors are nice - but not much imagination or creativity shown in this shot.

I like the colours and composition but I think you over saturated to the point where your made the flame look unnatural.

Simple, clean, effective. I love the look of the flame, really stands out.
