 I've seen a few fires in my day, and this one was really boring. It was really tough to get a good shot.

In case folks are wondering, no lives were lost during the fighting of this fire.

The guy to the left is using a pickaxe to chop a hole in the roof, so the other firefighter can shoot the water into the rafters. As he bangs the hole, you can see the fire shoot out from the top of the gable. One thing you learn when watching firefighters fight fire. They know what they’re doing, and they are very methodical.

After watching these guys tear this house down with axes, it kind of makes you wonder why they just don't let them burn.

Unlike many of the photos for this challenge which were staged, this one is photojournalistic, so I'm glad it did well. It's a very well done image. Nice capture!
