 This is my first challenge entry using my new macro lens. I hated having to downsize the photo and lose all of the detail that the leaf had. But rules are rules.

My idea was to show the contrast between new leaves and the old ones. I hope it is received well.

My prediction on this is about a 5.5XXX

With the title, this image gives a powerful statement. Are you saying goodbye to a loved one or to the Christmas season. Or maybe to your visiting relatives.

Nice contrast between the growth and death of a plant.

Three tone color contrast? Works well for me. I also really like the different texture contrast. Might have preferred a slight aperture, not sure though. Wonderful sharpness and bold colors.

The isolation by contrast is not the most pronounced of the entries on this, but I do like the shot. The wrinkled maroon of the front leaf is nice.

nice shot , but if you did away with the blurred red leaves behind then it would really fit the theme - 6
