 I was itching to do something with a freeze-action on water to play with my new Cactus flash remotes and off camera flashes. I did some water-drops, but decided that they're just too common. I only had a few hours to be done with everything, as it's New Year's Eve day, and I have a busy evening of partying ahead of me. I found inspiration in Graphicfunk's portfolio, and attempted to imitate his "POP !" a macro illusion which won a yellow ribbon in the Macro IV challenge.

Unfortunately, I'm too cheap to get the stuff with a real cork, so a lot of the impact is lost in the white-on-white.

This shot is with water, but I did try it with the actual champagne, which ended up soaking a fair part of the room as well as getting my camera wet and sticky. Here's the messy shot:

Wait a second.... this contest closed on Dec 31st... either you are in a different timezone, or you started partying early :)

Nicely captured.... Im sure this took several takes, in which case, I hope it didnt cost you too much in champagne.
