Challenge: Ice II (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 LD for Canon
Location: my basement
Date: Jan 1, 2008
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 800
Shutter: 1/200
Galleries: Abstract, Water
Date Uploaded: Jan 1, 2008

I used a snowflake shaped silicone baking mold to get the shape and shot it in my basement with a large utility light right next to it. I increased the shadows to make it look more see through than it was and increased the highlights to lighten. Then, I rotated it 45 degrees.

The ice king? I don't see how that relates to royalty at all, but I like the focus on the ice. Could you have focused on the inside of the ice more? That would give it a very textured look to it.

Neat snowflake but not enough to make the image a ten.

I really can't tell if it is real ice or plastic. Good idea turning it to make the audience think a little more.

It's nice, but seems to lack the sharpness I expect to see in such an image. I don't think the slight sepia tone works for it either. It takes away from the boldness.
