This is not as easy of a shot as some people may think. The white balance is awesome.

Too contrived for me..

Sad topic. Not such a great photo.

Good pic, the house seems overwhelming, as it does. I like the man being just in the corner.

Seems like the house/ stairways are more important than the subject who is cropped off and almost incidental.

your subject should be higher in the shot. the subject gets lost in vstness of the room. if you brought it down just a little you would keep that feeling of vastnes nad not loose the subject.

Powerful message. I would like to see the subject take more prominance in the image. He's placed a little too low and too far left.

Great leading line, love the bright toning and the human interest.

I would have like to see more of the person, was there no more room to move the camera back, other than that good pic. 6

I think you got "silence" in this image. At first I really loved it and I still like it, but now I'm bothered by the position of the chandelier. Maybe you could have cropped a bit lower, still getting most of the railing? I dunno. Maybe it's just me. Contrast seems like it could be stronger, too. Anyhoo, I did give this picture a 7.

Good choice to go B&W. Nice sharp focus

Rather dismal! But it fits the subject of the challenge.

very different concept, framing could use little tweaking but at first looks gives the feeling of silence and emptyness

All the space certainly gives the idea of quiet where a busy life possibly once was, but it lacks edge for me. 5.

Nice composition - I like the idea that the main figure is almost something you notice after looking for a while. Emphasizes the feeling of silence and aloneness in the large house. A much wider-angle lens would have intensified the feeling even more - possibly hard to do, depending on your camera.

very low contrast.. strong image.. i just wish it was better exectued. it looks very empty and lonely... i think that works strong.
