 There's a little coffee shop near my home, fronted by a small beach on what we call the Back Bay (Morro Bay). This area is home to many birds during the winter. This young one was wandering the beach and allowed me to get quite close with my camera.

Great egrets are probably my most favorite bird to photgraph. To learn more about them:

Almost an intense look here. Great contrast between legs and sand really help the egret stand out.

Dawn; Simple fantastic.. the white is a pure of his feathers is terrific.. Casual while u are there and his legs crack me up..

oh ! how beautiful! what a great capture of this lovely egret. wish i could be on the beach...sigh

that's funny about making your dogs nits! we do that to the cats here, play sounds of dogs barking or other cats crying
quite a sight to see the fat cuties get all worked up...stupid human tricks eh? :)
