 Going to try to do a "portrait a week" in 2008. This is a neighbor, Michael, who I hadn't seen in awhile. As you can probably tell, this was a candid. I was happy to bump into him and he very good naturedly let me take his photo.

I used automatic white balance and the light on his face came out very orange (perhaps due in part to the daylight from the window competing with the overheads?), so I converted to black and white rather than try to adjust the color balance.

I like this portrait a lot! Why haven't I noticed it before? Great light, wonderful candid feel and natural smile and perfectly chosen dof! Great job!

I love the background and the candid bit of this shot.
The contrast works too.
Does a vignette add? Could try...:-)
