Oops, I started to leave a comment and changed my mind, but just realized I had submitted an empty comment with only the word "I". Anyhow, to complete my thought, I think the mixed lighting makes this appear too artificial -- it seems as if the girl is standing in front of a poster of the sea (maybe she was?). |

Think I see what you were going for, but there are too many elements which distract - the shirt, the writing on the shirt, the ship/rig in the background, crooked horizon, blown sky, the pose/facial expression - but mostly that this looks 'spriteish'. |

Though a good idea compositionally speaking the processing of the skin has gone way overboard. Looks too plastic. |

Clarity and composition are nice. Lighting is too harsh. |

Overall, it is a nice image, though it looks like there is a war ship in the background, which is in contrast to the prayer/title. |

The child looks awfully edited and cut-in, it is cut-in, right? The background and the kid just doesn't complement eachother. |

3 things:
The child is overly soft (compared to the background)
The child looks cut & pasted (very noticeable & unnatural)
The child's shirt is distracting (a solid color shirt would've been ideal)
Make that 4, the title is overkill
something positive... I like the background, even tho it is very overexposed. |

Nice idea, but the flash makes it seem like the child was pasted in. And the clothing is somewhat distracting ("off road" doesn't seem to match the religious theme) Maybe a sillouette would have done the idea more justice? |
