Woke up this morning to snow! So I grabbed the camera, and tried my hand at night exposure (well, more like morning before sunrise). I took this one standing just outside our front door.

Can you believe they canceled school for this!!?! I grew up in Iowa, and we have lived in Maine, and this 2 inches, well it just makes me giggle to think they closed school.

**edit**
didn't realize I saved this so tall, sorry.

I love the star burst from the light. The back lighting on the snow covered trees is sweet.

Yeah, we are transplanted midwesterners and imagine our surprise when living in Indiana they put down the entire year's supply of salt before the storm arrived ... and it zigzagged around the area ... no snow and used all the salt. Then one week later before more salt arrived they got hit with 12 inches.
We have not so much in the way of snow in NJ...I miss it.
This is a beautiful early morning scene. Somehow that little dusting of snow makes me feel alive. Right now we are in the mid 60s IN JANUARY, sheeeeesh.
