 The bridge is in the center of town to the rt is the North side of town to the left is the South side..It's the only way thru the center of town and there has been much controversy over building another bridge the past 10yrs.It's beyond necessity @ this time.. The College and hospital are on the South side most of the shops & businesses are on the North..
The kayakers paddle the river quite frequently for the adventure of going over the fall..

Not a great image .. Trying give a glimpse of the surroundings of where i live..

Lovely view. I can just imagine the arguments for and against another bridge ... historical preservation vs. progress, etc., etc., etc.

I think that the radically cut-off buildings work really well. Often when only a small portion is missing, it all looks terribly wrong.

a great glimpse jeanne and a great story .. :) ..
our councils around here are really slack when it comes to building stuff ..
we've been hassling them for the last 8 years to tar our road .. its dirt and they'v constantly having to grade it after the rain .. they said a couple of months ago that they'd do it next year .. which means they'll do it this year .. i'm not going to hold my breath . ..:)

it's very interesting the way the water goes right up to the building. i like nice old bridges, too.

There is something quite interesting about older bridges like this. So much character, and definitely timeless. Lovely composition with the bridge placement, and the water leading me to it. And those buildings are such great accessories, too!
