 This is Deanne. She's a great friend of mine, and we shoot together a lot.

Editing was minimal, levels, curves, resize, shart sharpen, (all after raw conversion in lightroom)

hope you enjoy, i'm hoping for a 6.5+ on this :D

wh00 h00! another to 10 finish, i'm bouncing off the walls here. i hope you all like this. i was so bummed when i saw the background in this show, but i really loved it, so i just went ahead and stuck it in.

here's my outtake for this, i came so close to entering this one...deanne (model) liked this one better...preferences?

You definitly chose the right one. I really like the background here. It's like an environmental potrait. Congratulations on the top10 finish :)

good composition with some blown out parts

back to bump +1, and leave some additional comments:
the good:
dof and wb look good,
good expression and apropriate clothing for the story.
the bad:
too bad the right hand (a bit overexposed) merges with the blown out white books in the bg.
spectacles' frame is intersecting left eye (I can´t avoid seeing it all the time, not sure if this is "bad" though:-)).
I would like to see better lighting control.

The hand is over-exposed. The rim of the glasses only just miss the pupils. The background works quite well here.

A simple photo very nicely done. Eyes are off center to add interest, eyes are definitely focal point, dark hair dark flasses and shirt complement each other well. Lighting is really nice... subtleties on the face, glasses work well, hari creates some soft shadows.

Wow. I love the sexy librarian look. If the top of her hand was not blown out it would be a 10. however it is still a very nice 8 from me. I hope to see it on the front page. :)
