The local navy yard, my husband is doing ground water checks here. I went along today and scared this poor duck.

smardaz brought up an interesting point. I saw the ducks in the water and was trying to sneak around to catch them down low in the shot. All of a sudden there was this tremendous noise and off they went. I count myself lucky to have even gotton one shot off.

Very nice. Like the bigger version a lot as well. The slight tilt of the structure adds a lot of interest, imho.

The circle on the left is really well juxtaposed with the straight lines in the brickwork. The flying duck is just icing on an already-wonderful cake.

What an odd and interesting shot. The duck-in-flight is awesome. Due to the different elements, it looks as if you used a filter on it - very cool.

Ducks are spooky, in my experience. Geese will stay put much longer and even hiss at you for bothering them, but ducks take flight, loudly. Good catch to get the one. Sometimes I point the camera in the direction where I think they'll take off and get some good flight shots that way. If they're cooperative and I guessed right ;-)

I really like the composition of this.

This is WAY cool! I love the boldness of the color and the graphics of the circle and the line, and then wham - you added a duck! Way cool.

Excellent capture for such a fast moving subject. The light and composition are just super. The border fits nicely too.
