Went down to the boardwalk today and took a few photo's before the rain made us run for cover. So over the next few days I'll be posting some of those.

This is the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Memorial Plaza commemorating 100 years (1891-1991) of service. It depicts a shipyard worker handing his son a model air craft carrier. Behind the memorial is the destroyer USS Turner Joy. They have a nice little gift shop and you can take tours of the ship. We took a tour shortly after we arrived here. A gentelman lead us on the destroyer and walked us through a bit of it explaining different places and then left us to explore on our own.

Bremerton has plans to extend it's boardwalk to Evergreen Park. Right now it ends at the USS Turner Joy.

Very nice moody shot. I like the orange equipment behind the propeller because they draw the viewer in to the photo.

This is the most interesting shot because it almost looks like it's been selectively desaturated - all grays with bits of orange. Very cool. I would have cropped off the left side of the photo, putting the sculpture over to the left. Same goes for the processed version - both are excellent images.

I do prefer this one, with the bits of strong color.

This is nice processing, too, with the bits of red popping out and drawing my eye through the picture. I still like the other one better; it just has that extra bit of character from the processing that appeals to me.

I have looked at both the color and the toned version of this a couple of times each, and I like the color shot because I can see the statues much better in color. The sky colors blending into the Navy grey also adds atmosphere to the scene.
