This is the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Memorial Plaza commemorating 100 years (1891-1991) of service. It depicts a shipyard worker handing his son a model air craft carrier.

Had a little fun with editing on this. I started with this image
and then using PSP I applied the photo effect time machine using daguerreotype. Then I tried my hand at overlaying a texture on top of the image. This was my first attempt at editing this way, and I kind of like the effect it gives the photo.

This has on old photo look to it and I like it for it's own strengths. The overlay might be a bit heavy in places bit I do like it. I like the color image better.

Nice editing, but I like the grey metallic look of the other one. :)

I think that I know why you like the effect of the overlay in this. It's because it's perfectly judged and sits beautifully with the colour rendition. The shading around the edges just tops it off ideally.

Great choice of filters here - perhaps a wee bit dark, but otherwise excellent. In terms of which I like better... to me it's apples and oranges. I'll leave a comment with the other photo.

I live your use of the overlay, but really prefer the color version. This does have a nice, old-timey feel to it.

The processing works *very* well with this image. If you'd had any modern people in it I don't think I would have liked it as much.

I very much like the way the overlay makes it look like an "old" image. Well done.

Excellent choice of a photo to use with an overlay, and excellent choice of an overlay. This is brilliant!
