Great contrasts and wonderful colours combined with a fascinating (if ultimately rather sad) subject. From a presonal perspective I may have prefered the very top of the building not to be cropped off (although that could be because living in grey on England I have a bizarre and unrequited love for beautiful blue skies)
Love the detail from the cracked plaster to the sink to the fading sign

you are one of my fav photog on this site. Its a pleasure to look at what you bring. I did not vote in this challenge but it would have been one of my highest votes. Do not wish to change anything in it. |

Nice picture of this hotel (specially compared to some that I saw in that historical link. cool to see it before though). I think one of the big problems of this shot, especially for DPC isn't extremely interesting to look at...it doesn't have the DPC "wow" factor. I think it is interesting to look at, especially with the vibrant colors and depth you've captured, but it is basically a picture of decaying hotel. I think it'd be cool to see somebody inside it looking around, but maybe that's dangerous. cool shot though.

I'm kind of amused that the UMW sign in the shot is still in perfect shape while the building crumbles around it. Especially since it looks like that's in the oldest part of the building.
You'd think it being on the register of historic places would prompt someone to do something about it, but I guess no one thinks it's worth the investment. Rather sad. I can see why you wanted to tell this story. |

Nice textures and color. Not something I feel that would score high in a DPC challenge but it sure is beautiful and sad. |

This has a nice humor to it, and the overall coloring says "The Southwest" very well. Very sad story about the town. |

Perfect exposure, great composition with bags of character. There's so much detail in here to hold my attention. I don't think you could have conceivably taken this shot much better - the lack of 'wow' factor prevents a really high score but high scores are overrated! |
