 No butterflies were hurt in the making of this shot...except the one you see which was killed died of natural causes and was mounted onto the flower. (Credit)

This shot was a pain in my ass, but hopefully it'll do okay. It took me 3 days of shooting and it cost me $70. ($40 to buy the butterfly & have it delivered overnight, and $30 worth of flowers.) And I'm still not happy with it, but I'm tired of working on it.

Oh, and if anyone's upset about the butterfly's death, seethis website which explains how the butterflies are raised on pretty little farms and are allowed to live long & happy lives before being mounted, framed, and shipped off to idiots like me.

Lovely lighting and DOF with the added interest / difficulty of having a butterfly. It could be a fake one though and so that would neutralise the difficulty but these things should be taken by face value so well done. Nice uncomplicated background and rich yellow hues
