This is a really great idea. I think that by having the candle showing and having a very light background takes away quite a bit from your shot. This wick and the sparks against a totally black background would be a fantastic eye grabbing shot

Clever take on the challenge. To make this a great photo, I think it needs a darker background. It's also too out of focus.

Oh.. what to say.. get rid of the candle, darken the background.. and you would've got 10 easily.. the idea is GREAT, and the sparky effects are fantastic. 8

Honestly, I think this composition could have done without the candle at the bottom at all. It is quite distracting. I would rather wonder what the fuse was connected to, without wondering why we have a smoldering candle.
