Technicals: I think you did fairly well with the lighting. I think there are some unfortunate highlights on the detrius around the flowers. I like the diagonal composition though. It is possible you could have gotten away from a mild "snapshot" feel by getting lower and shooting a little more "across" the flowers. I like the juxtaposition of the flowers and the dead leaves, but would have preferred a different color on the leaves. A dark brown would have been nicer. Don't know if they would have gone that color if you had wet things down. Look at a picture of mine called "reincarnation" and notice the rich browns these dead leaves gave.
The feel: like I said, I like the juxtaposition between life and death. However, appealwise, the dead leaves take away from the picture. One possibility is to burn around the edges to make them darker.

Pretty flowers...light might be a bit harsh as it has created heavy shadows and as a consequence, detail is lost. |

Image has a dullness to it (could be the focus) and is way to busy (the leaves do not complement the flowers and is very distracting). Good Luck. 3. |
