The glare on the table in the upper-left is a bit distracting to me, but otherwise it looks quite appetizing. Considering the recipe, I might have considered the equivalent but lesser-known title of Buon Gusto (sp?) |

Lighting too intense. Not sure I want my food to glisten at me. The meatballs get lost in the sauce. |

For me, your image is overly saturated and the sauce looks very unnatural in color. I do like your idea of thesix meatballs though. |

I'm really not trying to be mean, but that does not even look a lkittle appetizing. Perhaps it is just me. |

good effort with the fill the frame - but I am afraid that the lighting - very harsh - makes the sauce and meatballs come across as rather unappetising. Softer light (bigger light source with diffuser) and better control of exposure on the sauce should help out. Food is a tough subject to photograph well. |

I think that this image would be greatly improved with a change in lighting. The current lighting looks a bit harsh in places and overall seems to leave the subject flat. |

The crop isn't exactly right and this is one of those pictures that you would want it perfect on. Besides that the lighting isn't right either. See the glare of the light on the lower right side of the plate and not on the upper left side? Instead of shining the light right on the subject you should have bounced it off the ceiling and used a reflector to control the light better.
If you don't have a reflector, you could use aluminum foil, or a mirror. Anything that will reflect light.
Good luck with the challenge |
