 This is a small town about 10 miles from Twisp which is decorated in a western theme as a tourist attraction. It's a cute, little town whose entire existence is tourist money.

Right now the big thing is snow mobiling, cross country sking and a little bit of downhill sking.

This area has the largest groomed cross country trails in the lower 48.

A superbly done night shot. The dynamic range in such shots is difficult enough to handle normally, without there being snow involved. That only serves to complicate matters tenfold. You nailed the exposure here.

It's a lovely place, in a sort of story book way. Good timing / time of day, to get the light to balance so nicely.

It's a small town, I guess maybe 600 people? It's on the edge of the Cascades in the middle of nowhere. The town council decided to bring in tourists for much needed money to carry peple thru the winter months when the town shuts down and most store owners head to the Pacific Islands! They thought the wildwest theme would work out fine. It's a cute town.

The book, "The Virginian" was written in Winthrop during the man's honeymoon. That's Winthrop's claim to fame.

Did they have a town meeting and all decide on the theme? Must be a small town to get everyone to agree!

And it's all decorated! I like it. The leading line of the road takes you right out of there to the next "real" town.
