My great - great grandfather, Capt Hendry's last home at LaBelle Fl.
My great grandfather married one of Capt Hendry's two daughters, Laura. The other daughter was Belle, so the town's name LaBelle came from the two daughter's names.
The house is now used for the family reunion, and for community functions like art shows, Christmas plays ect.

Google/ Captain F A Hendry
Monopod, polarizer, flash, zoom @ 25mm. The only pp was to raise exposure and shadows a little.

I love the framing through the trees and the way that you've got plenty of detail in the bark, too. Too often, any tree framing such a picture ends up totally dark and featureless.

Wow, this is truly a White House with a lovely wrap-around porch done in true southern style! You guys must host some fabulous family reunions there. Hey...do you bring your ice cream maker?!!

Thanks for sharing your cool family history!

Cool house. How wonderful to have so much family history known and have an ongoing piece of it through the generations.

That is a beautiful old home. I like that you took the tree in the foreground and have it framing the house. Good family history lesson. I am curious why your great grandfather would marry his own daughter though. Maybe he married the daughter of someone else, like Captain G A Hendry, I don't know.
