It is still pouring rain so I am using one from earlier in the month and this picture makes me want the sunshine. I keep telling myself we need the rain ... but the dogs and I have cabin fever!

This is the main tourist area in Morro Bay, called the Embarcadero. We all wonder why they put that power plant there. Those towers are 450 feet tall and not entirely attractive. The big rock is off to the left (bet you can't believe that I left it out of a picture).

Wow.
I've been to Morro Bay many times but i have never seen it on a day as beautiful as this.

I actually like the towers! But I'm weird. I love industrial photos of cement plants and urban buildings too :) But that water!!! Jeeeez. It's so blue! I think this photo is beautiful!

Ok. . .now I have to go check out your photo of the rock you left out of the photo :)

I like the way that the clouds seem to be emanating from the power station in this. I think that I would have preferred to see the tops of the chimneys in the shot, though.

I like the reflection on the water, looks like a watercolor, no pun intended. Or maybe it was. No, not really. Lovely colors and the chimneys are a great contrast to the boats and the harbor.

Those towers are huge! But you're right, not exactly fitting for a tourist area. Looks like a nice place, and certainly a nice day.

Wonder if they could paint the towers or something to make them more picturesque. They're pretty bland in comparison to the sky, water and boats.

Too bad you couldn't get a shot from the top of one of those stacks. The power plant needs a place on the water for cooling and condensing the steam from the turbines, so they put them near water in locations where they are protected from the direct ocean wave action. It's a bummer that it is in such an otherwise pretty location. That is a nice sunny day shot of the fishing fleet.
