 Found this guy at low tide in San Francisco Bay. He was busy grabbing his lunch. Used the 500mm lens to capture this image. No special editing.

This is simply one fantastic, flawless image. It fits the challenge topic perfectly and it is a technically superior picture. It is the best image in the challenge and was easily in my top three picks. Congratulations on a great photograph.

The detail on the bird is very nice and so is the over all shot. Like the composition but it could have been more suited to the challenge by cropping the right some as it appears what the bird is looking at is inside the frame but not in the shot. It just would have accentuated the outside the frame more. Sorry...need coffee. 9

good approach to challenge, I notice that the raised foot seems odd - why is that? The angle of the bird and the circular depression in front balance in a nice way, wonderful legs
