 An inquisitive girl in a Hmong village in Nan. She looked at me with a pair of probing eyes (especially at my camera). She is very innocent yet charming. I could see her soul through her eyes. And she could see me too.

i am definitely adding you to my fav photographers list because even science cant explain how you take such emotive shots. In all and every of your shots i can see the latter's soul. fabulous.

this is a golden picture in all of its details - a pitty that (in my point of view) it doesnt fulfill the challenge "off screen expectation"

I don't know that this is really on topic, but it is a great shot. Everything about this works, expression, cropping, focus, reflections in the eyes, etc. On topic or not, and I can't believe I am saying this, I hope you win 10.

A very beautiful image although I think it would be more powerful if the child was not looking at the camera. I guess I get the idea of the photo now, so i'll move my vote to a 10.

I like the way this points to things outside the frame at many different levels. The girl seems to be asking for everything, from a tissue, to a future

Fantastic image. Perfect DOF. I feel like I'm looking into her soul. Its a very loose interpretation of the challenge but rules are ment to be broken, right! 8 wish I could give higher.

Very moving. The eyes say it all. The runny nose is not very pleasant to view, but it certainly contributes to the drama of the shot.

What a cracking image.More about "portraiture" for me than "off screen expectation" but tremendous work none the less.

Good off centre composition with plenty of emotion in the shot, and very good powerful eye contact. Also a good location with the background reinforcing the picture. To be ultra picky, although you probably couldn't control it, the highlights in the eyes appear a little bit busy. That however is only a very minor distraction from an otherwise brilliant photo.

Very touching look. A bit tight at the bottom. I might have cropped a bit more off the top to give a bit more at the bottom and balance the image. Still a very striking portrait.
