Per the discussion on titles, I thought I'd call it what it is - two birds in a tree - heh.

After my failed attempts to take photos of birds at PetsMart today (note to self: don't ask, just do it), I went outside and found this - two birds in a bare tree against a rainy sky.

Rain was falling on my lens. Cars were trying to run over me in the parking lot. Hoodlums were eyeing my camera. I was not amused.

In addition, this (and all other photos I took)was clearly not good enough for the Bird challenge, so you get to see it - aren't you lucky!

Lightened the sky with levels (it was an insipid gray), used some Perfectum for smoothing and then the xero Porcelain filter. Smart sharpen. Finally added a vignette with lens correction

I love the almost feathery-looking edges to the branches and the strong diagonal to this.

Well ,when you look at the bird challenge- nothing I could take in my lifetime would equal the excellence of some of those images !
I really like this - the starkness & graceful lines of the tree are appealing to me :)

Good title. It has a rather moody look to it. Reminds me of the whomping willow in Harry Potter. Not the same kind of tree, just the sense of it. I love the B&W.

Hoodlums! ::gasp::

Well, *we* appreciate all you went through to bring us this shot. Besides, you get more comments from a side challenge.

This would be nice for a spooky tree with ravens kind of thing. Don't know what kind of birds they actually are, but reality is not as important as perception.
