 Not sure what the general take on this challenge will be, but here's my effort.

My thinking with this is that these days we rely on electronic communication so much that the "old way" of letter writing is a forgotten art.

Kinda wish I had a better pen for this, but last minute as ever. Not much pp, just tweak the levels a little, USM, border, save for web.

Hope someone else enjoys it :)

Edit: Top 20 finish, new personal top 5 image, and a boatload of great comments; that'll do for me :) Thanks guys!

This is something I was considering for the challenge - I even took my fountain pen out of the box in the closet, to discover I was out of ink. I like that the focus is softer toward the top. It's much better than the one I imagined taking myself :)

Just a touch of colour somewhere would add to this image I think. Even a reflection of a little colour in the pen nib.

Lovely simple interpretation and nice execution. If I'm being nitpicky I'd suggest that the handwriting itself could be a bit more 'olde world' and perhaps elaborate to enhance the old ways feel a bit.
