I think I'm starting to find a niche in still life. Who would have thought.

crop, B&W convert, sharpen

FYI - the little piles are all different loose teas, so is the round tea ball on the end. Yes, that actually IS an opium pot. I had no idea what it was when I bought it at a yard-sale. The plant is a rather tattered Aloe I rescued from a dumpster at home-depot and I am aware that it is in dire need of re-potting. I DO study herbology as a sort of hobby, but dried florist bouquets of roses and pointsetta leaves are not plants I would suggest for any reason. They were for compositional value only. I do recommend drinking tea however. :)

I love the items in this photo, but the image is a little dark for me.

Love this interpretation of the theme! I find the picture good, though a touch dark. However, that darkness draws my eye to the aloe vera plant.

HMO? According to wikipedia:
HMO can mean the following:
* Health maintenance organization
* Airport code for the General Ignacio Pesqueira Garcia International Airport in Hermosillo, Mexico
* Houses in multiple occupation
* Home Media Option (Tivo)
* Hermanus Magnetic Observatory in Hermanus, South Africa
* Hückel method, a very simple LCAO MO Method
* Harvest Moon Online, an online farming simulation game

What's an HMO?! I love the low contrast in this shot which shows off the textures and shapes so nicely with the subtle lighting. The mortal and pestle definitely ties this together as an 'Old Ways' shot.
