The over-all grain of the photo seems to tie-it-all-together. Good Job! :) |

To make something so big appear so small, not by diminishing it, but by putting it in context, is a delight to see, and the processing here emphasizes the effect for me quite well. |

I am very struck by the effect of the low cloud blanket almost pressing down on the main building and its reflection in the puddle which suggests to me it might also be pressing up on it ready to carry it away towards the vanishing point. A sense of things going in that direction.
Edit: very effective perspective.

its seems to be leaning abit to the right. I like the perpsective and the patch of clouds on the ground. It has a real vintage feel. |

the pool of water provides just the bit of detail to the foreground to balance the building - this could be a rather mundane photo - but the big clouds both reflecting and actual provide enough contrast for the remainder of the asphalt and brick |

What's cool about your processing is that this looks like a photo that the factory would have hanging in their offices. It has this antiquish feel to it. I like the puddle and reflections too. |

I love these old factories. The clouds and the puddle (with reflections) are great. Perhaps the only minor point is the gray wall on the right, but, who knows, there's something else on the left. Nice link about the the history! |

I like the puddle in the foreground. But I would have also liked it if you had tilted the camera up to capture more of that fantastic sky. |

This has the feel of a very old photo. I like the grain and the reflection of the clouds captured in the water. |

Nice b&w. I'm wodering if you could shoot that in portrait mode a little bit to the left... you would loose at leat one dumpster ... although they're not that annoying. |

argh!!!! was late for work today cos the beet lorries closed my road for 15 minutes whilst loading.
Yup, the puddle sure helps the image with some foreground interest. I might have crouched down a little more to try and remove a little of the 'empty' middle ground? What pp'ing did you do? looks a little heavy on the shadow/highlight though it does give an interesting wash to the image.
Read a bit about it from your link in the main thread, plenty more stories to be told methinks ;) |

I'm enjoying your explorations, Barbara. It's nice to see your view of where you are. And don't sweat the dumpsters. They're there, and they're part of the place. |

Puddles provide repetition of element in ones picture and you remind me that they contribute greatly to a photo composition. It's hard sometimes to get the puddle to reflect what one might want it to but, like a mirrored wall in a room, it opens up an otherwise impenetrable plane. I learn something of elements available in the photographer's visual toolbox from your photo. |

Interesting image, it look antique. Take out the dumpsters and cars, and it is a 80 year old photo. |

i like the puddle alot, and the image overall is good, but maybe a more extreme angle would have enhanced it a bit...i could be wrong though |

Very nice. Getting the puddle in the foreground adds to the image. The building sure look "old." Any idea of when it was buildt. |

The building is so striking -- and the contrast and tones look so good I didn't even notice the dumpster.
I like the way the puddle in the foreground grounds the composition and adds interest. Thumbs up from me :)
