There is a great horizontality about this picture. The jetty, the bank of the river behind it and the horizon are all perfectly flat, and fulfill the terms of the
competition. The verticals of the jetty supports and the lamp-post are at perfect right-angles to all the others. It is all nicely framed by the low wall and the tree trunk and branches. I do like this. |

| I don't understand the title. I like the way Liberty is in the background but the dock loses focus because of it. It's nicely framed. |
