In the gray of winter, shadows play, dancing with the light, twirling through limbs and bounding along the shore. Delightful capture of light and shadow.

I like the compositon and the scene alot, very nice sky! I might boost the contrast a bit as it appears a bit flat, but thats just a matter of taste, nicely done.

You ought to try to get over to Marblehead. The lighthouse is surrounded by a bunch of big boulders and a couple of trees. That's what this photo reminded me of, with the lone tree up against the water. I love seeing all the snow on the dark rocks.

You remind me that at the borders or interfaces one usually finds interesting subjects. Land / sea. Earth / sky. Liquid / arid. To put oneself in such a place usually leads to interesting subject matter.

Stunning. Everything working very nicely together. (Did you give a bit of blur to the water - looks like an abrupt transition from the nearer water, though the water horizon is most effective?).

cold, wind, snow, gray and black and white - a simple metaphor for winter

the placement of the subject, the line of the rocks leading to it, and the sun to illuminate from behind create multiple layers for us to grab - well done

Nice composition, certainly looks cold. I may like to see the snow look a bit brighter, but that's probably being a bit nitpicky.

Very nice. I like the looks of the tree. I think I would like to see more of the water in the image mostly to move the tree a bit more to the right and further from the center of the image than you have it now. Of course after I saw that change I might end up liking what you have better.

What a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL tree. I love the softness of it. The rocks to the left seem almost 'too hard' compared.
