This is my boy. I was working and playing with my horse and got some nice abstracts. This was one of my favorites. The black boots give his legs support when he runs like this and add a measure of protection from any nicks and scratches.

Used Goodman's texture:

And a "swoosh" texture of mine.

Lovely photo - more than enough horse in it to convey movement and power. Good use of textures as well.

You know this would also lend itself beautifully to the 'March - the illustrated word' side challenge. There's a nice space to put some words in.

You have some exciting photos in this folder of your portfolio. This one has a lot of kinetic energy, IMO. I like horses but have many equine photos don't really appeal to me because they tend to show off the possession rather than catch the horsiness of the horse. You do capture the essence of equine in many of your photos.

I love the incredible power you have capture here, and in all of these horse images in fact. I'm not sure, but it sort of looks like you flipped the "swoosh" texture... so that the lines are crossing the picture horizontally. I almost wonder how this might look if the lines were moving with the horse instead; vertically... just a thought. Great images! :)

My favorite of the two, by far. The crop definitely makes the shot, as does your "swoosh" texture which adds to the wonderful sense of movement.

I'm still of the mindset that 'good' photos are formally composed, uber-sharp, etc etc. But seeing pictures like this helps me break out of that. It's a very powerful shot but it's one that I would probably overlook. I'm glad you didn't. :)
