One of the many old bridges over the Cuyahoga river. Birds are all seagulls.

To be in this place, at this time, and to have the vision not only to capture it, but to present it to us here, in this way. Delightful.

Erik! Wow! This is amazing. Did you bag all those birds and turn them loose exactly at the right moment to capture this perfect photo? :) The sheer number of them, placed right over that bridge is so beautiful. The black and white processing adds drama and beauty! Did I say Wow??? Wow!

Very nice! The birds really make this.

This would make a good scene for a hitchcock movie. The strong contrats give off such and eerie mood. The black and white really do a nice job for the silhouettes.

very nice, love the sky and the lighting in this. The birds give a nice feel to this shot and that bridge looks pretty cool!

I like the highlights in the water and the sky. They help balance out the very dark areas of the photo. The gulls in silhouette against the sky add a lot of interest.

The birds dotting the sky are a nice touch to this picture. I like the silver tone of the water and sky. It really makes the bridge stand out.

You have a lot of different textures here that all seem to blend well together. I like the moodiness created by the silhouette and dark reflections.

Your photo teaches me that the truth is stranger than fiction, that exotica does indeed live in the everyday life.

This totally rocks! There are a few things I would change, if you don't mind me mentioning... The composition.. less water and more sky. even if you have to get on the ground to get a more upward shot. and the sun behind the bridge...use your select tool and select the where it is brighter in the clouds, click on feather(5 or so) and than bring the brightness down until it matches the rest of the tones. hmm..not to good at explaining PS work in typing. Hope this helps.

I agree about the gulls making the shot. I really like the balance between the fine detail in the bridge and the birds. LG

Erik, this is wonderful! Very much the cup of tea I would like to brew for myself. Amazing how much texture you've got with such strong contrasts and how well the latter do justice to all the elements. T

Interesting juxtaposition of subjects. And great contrast.

Yup, without the birds this would look pretty average imho. As it is I like it, good composition, nice reflections on the water and a nice silhouette.

the old time train bridge really provides a great frame for the birds...hey...i think you have satisfied like two or three challenges in this single shot...

you get the prize for most shots on goal with a single shot

Cool image - I like how you've silhouetted the architectural elements against the sky - makes it more ominous!

Another one that works great in B&W. Honestly, I don't imagine it would have half the impact if it was in colour.

Wonderful catch with the seagulls - really adds a nice element to this shot. Love the darks, though some may wish for more detail (I'm a contrasty person).

Superb capture! With the b&w and constrast looks like a scene from a nightmare.
