"Not much to this one." Nothing could be further from the truth. Wonderful image with depth and feel, textures and tones to die for. Excellent. |

Nice old feel to this. It makes me wonder what the lock is being used for. I like the contrast between the numbers on the lock and the rest of the image. |

Thanks for the editing steps, really helpfull :) For me the left 3rd is kind of redundant though understand it might complete the overall scene setting. I'd have preferred a nice close up of the lock. Excellent conversion btw and agree with other commenters its much better than the colour version. |

Can't get beyond the thought that this is a stunning exercise in BW conversion and tons of stuff I'll probably never advance to. I mean this in a good way; could spend a lot of time looking at the 2 photos side by side. |

That is one very busy spider. I wonder what it thinks it's captured? I like the crop that you used to bring the focus in closer to the dial. I like how the dial and numbers really pop out now compared to your original. |

First of all, neat shot. I keep trying to find the spider. Second of all, your processing steps fascinate me. I really need to learn to selectively do things to an image - it adds tremendous depth and "feel". |

I really love this one. Subject matter is sort of ordinary, but the photo is not. |

Very creepy. If I needed to lock something up, I'd make a 30 minute run to the hardware store rather than reach for that thing. :) And excellent processing. The shots works much better in B&W. |

Whoa, nice and grungy. I love the effect. It's amazing the way that in black and white it looks artsy and interesting -- so much more so than the color version. Makes me pause and take more interest in the ordinary things aroundme -- how often they can become art!

Old, ancient, corroded, partially buried - the use of these visual metaphors can produce very emotive photos, you remind me. |

Oh my! That is creepy! I do like it better in b/w. I want to know what size of spider lives there .. |

Nice photo of something that most of use would have been unhappy to deal with. Including the spider would have gotten you bonus points. :-) |

the grain created by the soft areas really gives this a feel of film/ remembering to finish a photo for a side challenge - not simply cropping and desaturating is a thing I need to remember! |
