nice work. the addition of the coil shows you've not used a true reflection. i've made note of your generous explanation image for future reference ;}

Ah! :) Thanks for the how to setup. So the wire is actually a squiggle on the white sheet then? it was a little confusing for the context of the challenge. Might have scored higher without it?

Very clever. While I've seen this done before I really like your rendition. Tricky shot to vote on. The reflection looks real, not like you setup an empty glass below the filled one, but the wire does change things hmmm. Was it set in the background and not on the surface? Or, is it one of those shots where you cover the top half of the lens, open the shutter, cover the whole lens, set things up, fill the glass and then cover the bottom half? I'll just have to wait and see :)
The lighting is way cool here though. It's a fun shot that makes one think.

Creative interpretation! I love the way you weave the black wire through as a hint that there's something not quite ordinary about this "reflection". Here's a timeline of my reations for your amusement:

"What the...?!? How is that black line not reflecting?... Wait a minute... (read the title again)... There's nothing in the bottom glass... but you can't photoshop an important element like that out... hold on, that doesn't look like an exact reflection of the glass... Hmmm... (studied the line for a bit)... Oh! That's not just one glass!! There's no real surface relection! You devilishly tricky photographer!!

Great Shot! Perhaps you should recreate this for the misunderstanding challenge :P

Very creative, crystal clear and almost technically perfect. The processing and color rendering are world class. But I think you should have left out that black spring like thing, it confuses me and spoils the simplicity of the image.

Nice concept, like the colors. Wish you'd got it absolutely level.

creative and inventive - like the many elements and how they work together, color is used very well -- one of my favorites this challenge

Hahaha, this is clever, it's not a reflection, even though it looks like a reflection. It took me a little to figure this out, great idea to use the wire to let us understand the trick. Good job.

I saw this exact shot in a book on lighting I checked out of the library, it looks like we may be reading the same thing. Nicely done, not really a reflection but I wont tell...

What a classy shot. Often simplicity wins - not easy to achieve though.
