I don't know why, but regardless of my efforts in photography and post production, I end up with grains covering most of the image ... I have no idea how to get rid of that problem.

The grain is caused by the high ISO. Set your ISO to the lowest number possible and use a tripod (or some other support if you do not have a tripod) to keep your camera from moving while the photo is being taken. This photo also suffers a lot as a result of poor lighting.

The bread might be whole grain, but the photo shouldn't be :-). Use better lighting and lower ISO.

White balance is off, noise is extremely high, and the image is blurry. This probably would've come out much better in macro mode

Umm, well, I really like the sharp edges of this, the lines are drawing, it is just a shame that it appears a little red and a whole lot out of focus

poor lighting, grainy and out of focus.
Try the same picture in natural light (not direct sunlight).
If your digital photo is out of focus, take another one!!!

I'm having a hard time seeing what this is... could have benefitted from a little more light (unless I'm missing the intention - which is highly possible)

A lot of noise in this photo, looks like there wasn't enough light. The bread does not appear to be in focus
