I like the way you've composed this. The blue section pleasantly cuts across the corner with its dynamic angling. The lighting, though, really feels lacking. It looks like you unravelled this flag, put it on the ground, snapped away a few shots with the flash, and then you were done. (Some softer lighting and a smoothed out flag would have taken this a lot further, imo) |

your extra time on the composition of this often-photoed subject shows. lighting is tough as the flag is flat and so is the light. |

The lines are strong, yes. I'm not particularly fond of this photo, not because it's of an american flag but because technically it can be a lot better. The colours are dark and flat, maybe the photo was under exposed? The entire image has a blue cast to it.. which might be fixable with photoshop. This image could potentially be very good if it weren't for the technical problems holding it back. 4 |
