I didn't actually take this shot, and it was taken with my little canon powershot, but it's one of my all time favorite pictures of me! I love how it looks like I am going to keep walking right off of the edge. This is actually an illusion, trust me, I was NOT that close to the edge, I'm a wimp ;)

I think this just hints at how large the thing really is. This angle is great and even though you say you aren't that close, it still looks scary. The colors of the rock you are on contrast nicely with the rest.

I love the contrast in the color of the rocks. I'm dizzy just looking at the edge!

Love the reddish brown tones in the foreground and the muted brown tones in the background. It really does look like you are going to walk right out to the edge. Some day I hope to visit the Grand Canyon it is so beautiful in pictures, I couldn't imagine what it would be like in person.

I can see why you like this! Great perspective. Your tank top adds a wonderful splash of color to the rugged rocks.

That really is a great angle!!! And i'm soo jealous I have wanted to go to the Canyon since I was a little girl and every time I'm in the area it's because someone is sick. So no trip. bummer:( Oh well, I'm glad you had a great time!!!!

oh that sounds great! and a long day!!

I believe there are all sorts of ways to see the canyon, plane rides, mule tours, and some river tours I think. I would love to camp out there and spend a few days! We went on a whim (we were in vegas), so we didn't have time to plan anything other than going and seeing it ;) The side we went to (the west side I believe) you had to have a tour bus take you to the canyon, apparently its to dangerous to do it alone, it was nice though b/c they took us to a few different spots and fed us a traditional native american ("buffet style") lunch!

I am happy to hear that you were not that close to the edge. It is a nice shot.
