Excellent photo!
I am considering purchasing the Canon EOS - 1Ds, could you email me with information as to where you purchased your camera and if you believe it was worth the money.
Thanks,
Jeff O.

Hi John,
I just wandered in and took a look at this.
Superb composition, pose & lighting.
I didn't vote on this competition, but would have put this in my top ten! |

No offense Jefalk umm...boring! It merits technical value but past that mental value is stringent and washed out! |

This is a good industrial portrait. Suitable for a cd or press release. The lighting is perfect. Very good job. The palette is even harmonious. |

Beautiful capture. I love the pose and the setting. I think the only thing that could possibly strengthen this photo would be some light to highlight the detail of the piano casing on the right side of the frame. = 10 |

I really like this. A portrait not just of a face but I portrait that tells a story of a mans profession. Very nice detail and excellent lighting. Awesome!!! Good luck with the challenge!!! |

Hi!
You seem to have nailed all the technical details of this pic down! The framing, composition, lighting and exposure all are very good. But the pose of the model strikes as forced and/or unnatural. It just seems a bit cliche (spelling). |

Execellent composition and posing. I would tone down the highlighted button and the specular hightlight on the piano. I like how the hair light adds separation between the subject and background. |

interesting portrait putting the person into their "environment". Great lighting. The only 2 things I would tweek would be to 1) change his hand position to face the back of the hand to the camera rather than the side of the hand... back of the hand is more masculine. 2) I might have him lean toward the piano a bit more, or rest the other arm or hand on it. He is getting his portrait taken with the piano, so it must be an important aspect of his life.
nice going all around. :) |

Very nicely done ... I like seeing a portrait in some sort of context. The wrinkles in the background are distracting though. |

Classic portrait of a musician - the lighting is warm and the hints of color balance each other well - nice shot. - 8 |

I like this one because it truly conveys the subject's personality (somethign every portrait should do). |

perhaps a little dark, but that might be a monitor difference ... the bright spot on the piano is a little distracting, but i like this one a lot :) |

Nice title, attractive portrait, the framing (for once) adds to the overall effect. The open lid leads the eye nicley to the subject and the warmth of the light in the piano lends a good balance to his head and hair. Even the piano keys take the eyes to the main subject. The more I look, the more I see, the more I like! |

fantastic lighting and composition, but i wish for more passion. also, "Key's" is making me crazy, it's "Keys" unless you're making some sort of deliberate play on words involving a key that I don't get. |

Beautiful shot. A wall hanger for sure. Bit of a white hot spot near the keys, and the background behind the model isn't my taste, but might just be me. Really well done photograph... |

Great Shot! It might of been better without the yellow light on the right side. It takes your eyes away from the subject. |

This is my favorite portrait of the challenge so far. This is perfect work. The subject is more than just a face. This tells the story of the person. Nice simple color with formal black drops that help keep your attention on the subject. The only thing this needs is your signature :) Beautiful work! 10 |
